Caryn Montague entered the life and health insurance industry shortly after college. She had a great deal of background in disability, health, long term care products and executive benefits before transitioning to expert testimony and claimant advocacy over 15 years ago. Caryn thoroughly enjoys working with claimants and, if there are any, other representatives on issues regarding disability-related claims. Whether it is determining all the benefits available through one’s employer, the correct value of disability or long term care claims, or wrangling with insurers and/or counsel.
Caryn enjoys the challenge of helping resolve issues quickly and efficiently. In addition to being available as an advocate, Caryn may be called as an expert witness or mediator, pre-suit or post filing.
She is eligible to assist you as a fee-based, licensed professional if you require assistance determining insurance needs. Caryn often lectures to professionals in the insurance, claims, mediation, legal and other professional communities. Many of her articles are online including “Your Client Doesn’t Need Social Security Disability? Really?”, a primer intended for both insurance professionals and the layperson on the benefits of a timely Social Security filing. Her presentations often focus on helping claimants protect all their benefits. This information is found most helpful when there are simultaneous claims for Social Security (both timely and “remote date last insured”), Short and Long Term Disability, Disability Buy-Out or Overhead Expense, Worker’s Comp, Veteran’s, Injury claims as well as employee benefits. By establishing what benefits may be available, developing a plan to provide information supportive of all claims is often easier and frequently more cost-effective.
