Caitlin Thomas BDN RN EDPNA Help with Disability Claims

Disability Claims Help is proud to have Caitlin Thomas BSN, RN, EDPNA on our team:

Before starting her own practice in 2012, Caitlin Thomas began her work with disability claims in people’s homes and hospitals in 2002, Ms. Thomas represented an organization that took claims for Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) of Medicaid.  Since 2004, she has developed trainings and given presentations on the Social Security disability claims’ process, requirements and documentation to various organizations such as clinic staff, MCOs, and parents of disabled children. She has taken her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and applied it to the process of advocating for claimants’ disability.

Ms. Thomas teaches her claimants how to communicate and advocate most effectively with their providers not only to support their claim, but receive on going effective and productive healthcare even after the evaluation for their disability claim has been completed. She personally works with medical and community support providers, Disability Determination Services (DDS) examiners, SSA field and hearing staff, and schools in making sure necessary information is communicated to help support a disability claim or procure needed supporting documentation.  Ms. Thomas is the former Treasurer of the National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR) and is a member of the Disability Determination Services of Massachusetts Advisory board and their homeless subcommittee, the Disability Law Center of Boston’s SSI Coalition, the Medical Home for Special Needs Children in Western Massachusetts, and the Jericho Group (children with special needs).

Ms. Thomas handles initial claims through Appeals Council and ages from birth to retirement with one of her specialties being children’s claims.
